At 10:30 a.m. on March the 18th the Guinness book of World Records, Gamers’ Edition will attempt a new world record for the ‘Largest gathering of Games characters’ at the Millennium Bridge, London UK.

They want as many gamers as possible to attend to help to make a new world record. All characters are invited, already known to be attending are Master Chief (Halo), King of All Cosmos (Katamari Damacy), Gabe Logan (Syphon Filter) and Dante (Devil May Cry).

If you’re into World of Warcraft, Manga or Anime you need to get your costume together to help break the record. Registration is still open by e-mail direct to the Guinness book of World Records gamesgathering@guinnessworldrecords.com.

The 2009 edition of the book is already in the advanced stages of planning, and all characters will be seen in both the physical edition and on the Guinness website, all participants will receive a special gift commemorating the event.

The new world record attempt is set to complement the new 2008 edition of Guinness World Record Gamer’s Edition on sale now. The book is overflowing with every record imaginable to the dedicated gamer, including all the latest records, statistics, interesting facts, and the latest official high scores.

If that wasn’t enough Guinness will also be looking for a brand new gamer to become a record breaker, and join the other world beaters in this year’s edition. Gamers are being requested to include their top scores on the Guinness Gamers Edition website you will then be considered for the challenge.
