Retrieva has unveiled their latest invention at this year Crufts show at NEC in Birmingham, England and it will set you back around £200 ($400 USD).

The Retrieva sat-nav dog collar is a lockable collar, forged from anti-cut material to deter thieves, will allow owners to log onto a website and pinpoint their exact location of their dog. If your lovable K-9 is missing, lost or stolen it will leaves a preset area then a text will be sent to the owner’s phone.

The Retrieva sat-nav dog collar uses 3 tracking technologies satellite, telecom and radio transmitters to pin point the dog’s position and if you’re out walking the dog and are mugged you can hit the panic button to alert friends and family.

The sat-nav dog collar was designed by Andrew Stuart, a banker from Harlow, Essex, UK. It is said to be the first of its kind and will be available in July 2008 for £200 ($400 USD) plus a monthly fee.

Andrew Stuart said:

Dog theft is out there but it’s not high on the list of police priorities, for obvious reasons. But for owners or families, if a dog gets lost it really is a traumatic experience.
