Texas school district allows teachers to carry guns to school
That’s right. A small Texas school district is allowing its teachers to carry guns to school for their safety and that of their pupils. Of course they will need to get a license to carry a concealed firearm in public along with permission from school officials and to be expected training (in event the unthinkable should happen). So far parents are pretty cool with the idea and none have objected.
Next on the ballet is to allow students to carry concealed firearms…that will be a new one. But mind you it is up for consideration and many school officials are thinking about making it a reality.
Recent school shootings in the United States have prompted some calls for school officials to allow students and teachers to carry legally concealed weapons into classrooms.
The US Congress once barred guns at schools nationwide, but the US Supreme Court struck the law down, although state and local communities could adopt their own laws. Texas bars guns at schools without the school’s permission.
