It seems like the Star Wars campaign against Weinstein Co’s is gaining ground as they were picked up by mainstream press, such as, New York Post, the Daily Telegraph, Vanity Fair, and on thousands of websites.

Star Wars fans are still angry over the changes that were made to the original Fanboys release and wanted it stopped completely, even though Weinstein Co. have issued a press release stating that they would jointly release both versions of Fanboys.

The Weinstein Company issued a press release today announcing that “it plans to jointly release two versions of its highly anticipated film, ‘Fanboys,’ on home video, with the Company exploring options for its theatrical release.

Star War fans nationwide have built a multi-tiered grassroots effort to voice their strong support for one of the earlier versions of the film, including a campaign which generated over 300,000 emails in support for the film. Based on the tremendous feedback and interest from the fans, today’s announcement will ensure both versions will be equally available within the marketplace.

The group is organizing Stop Darth Weinstein protests on March 28th in Los Angeles and New York to coincide with the release of Weinstein’s Super Hero movie. The protests will take place outside two prominent movie theaters of both cities.

The group also made a video, you can watch it below.
