The Japanese corporation, Taito is going to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its masterstroke of 70s technology, Space Invaders.

Taito has got together with Yahoo Japan, to produce a site where anyone can reflect on simpler times by playing the game. Go there and see for yourself before Yahoo takes it down, the site was a part of Taito’s April fool project to scare the Yahoo visitors. I’m sure it won’t be there for much longer, so make some strong coffee and start playing.

In addition to the online game Taito also announced Space Invaders Extreme, now with faster-paced and more intense game play, it will become available on Nintendo DS and PSP on June 17, 2008.
