The world’s most famous and acclaimed sci-fi author of over 100 books Sir Arthur C. Clarke has passed away at the age of 90. He was most famous as the writer behind Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey and was the first to propose satellite communications in 1945. British born but he has lived in Sri Lanka since 1956.

My condolence go out to his family, friends and fans world wide. His stories of lunar colonization were wonderful reading, cleverly plotted and well-written and I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve watched 2001: Space Odyssey. I’m saddened that he is no longer with us, he will be sorely missed. R.I.P Sir Clark.

I have followed the Electronics course at Arthur C. Clarke Centre in 1991,
and I viewed the news in the Sakthi TV.
