Phone that Morph’s into Different Shapes

University of Cambridge and Nokia the biggest mobile phone manufacturer in the world, have unveiled a totally new concept in mobile phone technology. The partnership is working on the development of the new phone. Which is not only slim and light, as many modern phones are, but also has the capability of bending into different shapes.
The new Morph concept phone will be presented as part of an online display in association with the Museum of Modern Art, in New York City. This online exhibition that runs until the 12th of May is called “Design and the Elastic Mind”
This radical new gadget will make use of revolutionary nanotechnology. And is being produced with the intention of demonstrating how the cellphones of the future will be bent, twisted and stretched to form different shapes. This will allow cellphone owners to ‘morph’ their phones into any shape they desire.
Morph was developed as part of an ongoing project at Nokia’s own Finnish research center in association with the University of Cambridge, UK. The phone will use this nanotechnology that not only allows bending into any shape. It will also have surfaces that are self-cleaning, and the internal and external electronics will be transparent.
The idea is based on principles learned by studying spider silk, which has very high elasticity and great strength. The gadget will be able to be used like a traditional cellphone or be opened out to reveal a keyboard and touch pads.
The phone will also not have a battery, as will be solar powered and will have the capability to sense the information about local environment and display it on screen.
