Microtel
There is one small reason why Microsoft has such a leverage on the PC market. Microsoft married Intel years ago and the two are still going strong. Of course they have been having affairs with AMD in recent times, but by the look of things that’s not going to be for too long.
On the other hand Microsoft has done such a good job of befriending Intel that Intel has based its whole parallel-processing tools on the current Microsoft concurrent runtime environment.
In other words both Intel and Microsoft are working at the same pace to deliver Window’s 7 (Vienna) on the date of 2010. With that said, expect few changes for 2009, but according to the Intel lineup their new parallel-processing tools will be available to developers from now till mid 2009.
