Metal Gear Solid 4, Just Too Big for Blu-Ray

According to Hideo Kojima the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4 for PlayStation 3 is too big to fit on the available space provided by a regular Blu-Ray disc.
Kojima stated that he was not happy with the quality that would be achieved when using Blu-Ray. He said that there simply was not enough space, in fact nowhere near enough space. For the amount of information required to give a good quality experience to the gamer.
Apparently, his company has been trying for some time, without success, to find a way to cut information or to compress all the data to make it fit onto the standard Blu-Ray disc.
Other observers share his opinion regarding the size that Blu-Ray is capable of providing. The Blu-Ray disc is capable of holding approximately 50GB of game data, which is actually considerably more than the standard DVD disc.
Kojima’s comments, when combined with the known space limitations refutes any rumor that there will be an Xbox 360 port for MGS4. At this time, there is still no official comment regarding the impending release.
The worldwide simultaneous release of Guns of the Patriots, Metal Gear Solid 4 is already set for June 12th.

This can only mean good things. I’m sick of games that have 4-5 missions and are done (like frontline fuel of wars, army of two). Since this game is so huge, i hope its going to be outstanding
