Man Repeatedly Call Dead Wife’s Voice Mail for Comfort
This story is quite sad really, but understandable i guess. Though i find it spooky listening to a dead person’s voice, then again I am lucky not to have lost anyone very close to me yet, so i don’t know the true feeling of not ever seeing the one you love again.
Charles Whiting is an 80 year old man, whose wife passed away in 2005. Ever since she died, he would call her cell phone everyday just to catch her voice mail message, where she said “”Catherine Whiting”". But when Verizon upgraded Charles Whiting’s telephone service, his late wife message disappeared and Charles blamed Verizon for the loss, saying, “Now they took her voice away.”
However, this story does have a happy ending. Fortunately, Verizon had archived all the old messages, and therefore, able to restored his late wife voice message to the new voicemail system.
Naturally Charles Whiting was delighted:
I’m glad they rescued it, I’m very happy
