Laptop Blu-Ray Drives Not Far Away - PS3 Price Cut Near?
Sony has just finished cooking up a new smaller Blu-Ray optical module that could easily be used to produce thinner drives that could fit inside a laptop; this includes slot-loading drives, meaning that the chances of seeing a Blu-Ray equipped MacBook or iMac are very high. This new smaller module is also cheaper to produce, meaning that the prices of Blu-Ray players and drives will drop.
This also means that it is now cheaper than ever to produce a PS3; this along with the news that Sony have cut PS3 production costs in half indicates that a PS3 price cut is just around the corner. Good times.
