To celebrate the late Ian Fleming’s would be 100^th birthday this year; his estate was out looking for a writer to write the next James Bond novel. They found Sebastian Faulks, the English author best known for his novel Charlotte Gray, which was then made into a film in 2001 with Cate Blanchett in the lead role.

The new James Bond novel, titled Devil May Care, will be released on May 28^th 2008, the day Ian Fleming would turn 100.

Faulks’ mission was to pick up the 007 tale back where Fleming had left it in his last Bond book, Octopussy and the Living Daylights, which was published posthumously in 1966
