iPhone Emulator Update Heaven!

It looks like the next few months will be great for iPhone owners; an official SDK for ‘legal’ homebrew, a bunch of new features, and of course, more jailbreaks for the current hacks until they’re moved over to the SDK.

The latest word on the street (I’m trying to be cool) is that there are a whole host of updates to the current range of iPhone emulators coming very soon. Firstly, the highly anticipated Snes4iPhone will be released publicly next week - the emulator has a high compatibility rate and runs most games at full speed, including the infamous Chrono Tiger. I’m excited about this release. I’ve never played Chrono Tiger the whole way through, so I can now play it while I’m bored working at college.

The Gameboy Advance emulator gpSphone will also be receiving a more than welcome update within the next week which includes the option to play in either landscape or portrait, rather than forcing everyone to play in landscape.

Finally, the one I’m most excited about, PSX4iPhone. The currently sluggish Playstation 1 emulator is being completely rewritten from scratch and should hopefully see a large performance increase and much greater compatibility rate. The ETA for the new PSX4iPhone is around 2 weeks. I want to play Klonoa on my iPhone! For updates on progress direct from the source, stay tuned to ZodTTD’s blog. Of course, Techotic will cover it all too.
