Even experts make mistakes
In case you’re wondering why your mother-in-law suddenly tipped over after trying one of Anthony Worrall Thompson famous cooking schools, so happens the celebrity chief made a mistake by telling readers in a magazine that shall go nameless that the weed ”henbane” or more commonly known as “stinking nightshade” was a good addition to summer meals.
Of course the magazine immediately offered a warning saying that what was said was inaccurate. So happens Mr. Thompson was mixing up his herbs. That’s what editors are for I guess.
Henbane, or Hyoscyamus niger, is toxic and can cause hallucinations, convulsions, vomiting and in extreme cases death.
Worrall Thompson, who was discussing his passion for organic foods, had confused the plant with another of a similar name.
The chef had intended to refer to fat hen, a weed rich in vitamin C, that is edible, media reports said.
Luckily his recommendations did not cause any casualties.
