Before you open your mouth very wide let me say it was a 17 hour trip from Portsmouth (UK) to Munich (Germany). And yes the guy was aware of the cost. Mr. Hogan the taxi driver thought it was a joke or prank at first. But turned out the 30 something year old guy was dead serious.

Turns out the dude had missed his flight and was desperately in need of a ride to attend his friends stag night at a beer festival in Munich. Needless to say Mr. Hogan (54) was willing to take the man up on his offer once the right payments were made. And as it seems Dave (the customer) got to Munich in time.

Mr Hogan said: ‘I thought he was having a laugh to start off with or it was one of my cabbie mates doing a wind-up on me but he was deadly serious.’ The cabbie warned Dave it would cost £1,700 for the trip plus £250 for the Channel tunnel and a hotel for the night. I assume he found his pals because he was on the phone to them trying to find out what bar they were in. I didn’t need to give him a lift back because he said he still had the ticket for the return flight. It’s not something I’d want to do every day but it beats taking a few pensioners out to the shops.’

Mr. Hogan did not have to wait for him though as he had his returning ticket.
