Can’t classify this as he strangest death wish ever but it does come close. Some Puerto Rican dude is so in love with his feet that even in death he wanted to work them. So he had his request granted by his family that he would remain standing even in death.

Embalmers used some type of special chemical to stiffen his limbs and keep him standing for the three day wake that followed his death. According to his bro, he always wanted to stand and be happy. Well he got the first wish, no so sure about the second one.

Dressed in a Yankees baseball cap and sunglasses, Pantoja was mourned by relatives while propped upright in his mother’s living room.

His brother Carlos told the El Nuevo Dia newspaper the victim had long said he wanted to be upright for his own wake: “He wanted to be happy, standing.”
