I didn’t know there are so many cyclists in Japan, otherwise they wouldn’t have built this multi-storey computerized bicycle parking tower that can hold approx.9,400 bicycles. I don’t think we need one like that in London just yet, since i rarely see any bikes on the crowded roads.

There are more than 50 million people passing away each year, imagine the negative environmental impact that would have with traditional burial and cremation practices. Death is something that nobody want to talk about, but maybe when we finally leave this earth, wouldn’t we want to leave behind a cleaner planet for the ones we left behind?

Ok, this is another one of those wacky idea from Japan. You’ve seen the used knickers vending machine, and you’ve probably seen one selling Ipods. But lets me introduce the Shoe vending machine located in Carnaby Street, Central London. It carries 24 pairs of running shoes in six different sizes. Etsy seller Recycle Ideas sells plantable business sized cards. These cards are hand made with 100% recycled paper and have flower seeds embedded in them. So you don’t have to let these cards go to waste once they’ve been read. The idea is to recycle the cards by planting them and flowers will later bloom in theirs place. There are several type of flowers you can choose from, these are, poppies, daisies, bachelor buttons and more. Mother Day is coming up, so i think this might be the gift you’re looking for.

The Gates Head Millennium Bridge spanning the River Tyne in the UK is not your ordinary drawbridge. This concept actually tilts, rather than opening, to allow ships pass underneath.

The Millennium Bridge unusual design came from a competition held by the local government back in 1996. There were 150 designs submitted, but in the end, Wilkinson & Eyre Architects took the prize with their unusual concept.

I have found the perfect tent for this year British music festivals. If you are a regular British music festivals goer, you’ll know everything about rain and flooding.

Good thing about Treepee is it can be hung on a tree, a cross between a tree house and a tent. There are four tethers, one on each corner, preventing the Treepee from swaying from side to side.

tent ceiling fan

For me camping is to get yourself dirty, to get stuck in, to feel one with nature and to survive with minimum gadgets and utilities. But a fan for your tent, with light included? I thought the point of camping is to learn how to start your own fire and all that jazz?
