Buy a sick note
Its not every day you hear a story like this. Lets say you need to skip work on the 8′th because you were really looking forward to watching the Olympic games, but so happens you can’t cause you’re not sick and you’re not interested in downing some milk of magnesia to really come down with it.
Why not buy a sick note? That’s exactly what a website in Britain proposes and guess what? You Aussies can now get them them. Not to mention the fact that fake sick leafs causes the Australian economy $10 billion dollars a year in loss of productivity, but I guess if you can live with yourself knowing that you added to those numbers…
Surprisingly the company plainly states that these are novelty items and should not be used for illegal activity. Yeah right. And just in case you live in the US and interested in it…they do offer business here.
The notes, available from doctorsnotestore.com, cost about $38 each and aim to exploit Australians’ fondness for “chucking a sickie,” or taking days off while supposedly ill.
The website says the company also provides notes for Europeans, and for gym-goers to cancel contracts due to illness or pregnancy. The site offers Internet links for medical notes in Canada and the United States as well.
While the products look “extremely authentic,” the company said the notes are meant to be used as novelty items and not for any illegal purpose.
