Apple has just announced the release date for the Ipad by releasing the following statement on its official website.
The Wi-Fi models of the Ipad will be available in the US on Saturday, April, 3 with the Wi-Fi and 3G models coming later in the month. Probably three weeks after the release of the Wi-Fi models, so what Machead is going to wait that longs for an iPad just for 3G?
According to the statement made by Apple, all iPad models will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K. in late April. But Macheads can preorder all versions from March 12 for pickup April 3.
Frankly, I’d rather wait for the 2nd or 3rd genneration versions, they’ll no doubt be along within the next year and I’m not too keen on paying more for the 3G model either.
So what’s the cost of owning one of these Ipads? Alot….
Wi-Fi and 3G iPads are $130 more expensive than Wi-Fi only Ipads, and that’s not including monthly data plan for 3G.
Take a look at the pricing table below:

Given Apple’s iPad availability schedule we’ll have around three weeks for consumers to vote with their hard earned money: Wi-Fi and 3G or just Wi-Fi. I think the Wi-Fi only model will probably win at the end of the day.
